About Us

Muddy Foot Adventures is a small Garden Route events company that is run by James Stewart and Jeffery Willcocks.

The company organisers trail runs , mountain bike races and other adventure activities on the Garden Route. Most of the events are off road adventure type events and these have often needed the creation of new routes and path ways. We pride ourselves in creating routes that are unique, challenging and safe of our competitors and then still useable and sustainable to the land owners after the event. In essence we like to add value to the landowners property.

Jeffery was involved for many years in creating the single tracks in and around Sabie which now host numerous mountain bike races each year. This year he was the route planner for the inaugural Trans Cape Mountain Bike Stage Race. The route from Knysna to Cape Town need careful planning to make sure that the riders had an incredible journey.

James Stewart before moving to the Garden Route had extensive “farm and forestry “ road building experience in Natal and so has an understanding of slopes, contours and forestry networks.

Apart from the above Jeff and James are avid sportsman who run and ride in races throughout the country. They have experienced some of the top mountain bike races including The Cape Epic, JoBerg2 Sea, Sani to Sea giving them valuable insight into different routes and route making opportunities. These races also have a big community spin off and they have had insight and discussions on this with some of the organisers. They have also taken part in various trail runs with James being involved in the Otter Trail Run and doing route recces and audits since the first running of the race.

Both Jeff and James have an indepth knowledge of the Garden Route natural forest and plantations from being involved in races, exploring and also Mountain Rescue. James is involved in many levels in the local communities from Life Saving,Mountain Rescue , Fire Protection Kwano Cycling Academy and other smaller projects .

In support of the Garden Route communities' determination to "renew, restore and rebuild" the 2017 MTO Tour de Plett will take place as planned on Saturday 7th October. We have always been non-profit and community focused and believe our race will be of more relevance in 2017 than ever before.
